Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 August 2026
1. The service
These terms govern your use of the Himalayan Silicon Valley website and annotation workforce platform, including account registration, skills testing, task assignment, work submission and payment. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. One person may hold one account; accounts may not be shared or transferred.
3. Applications and skills testing
Joining the workforce is subject to review: an account must be activated by a moderator, and placement depends on passing a trial task or skills test. Acceptance is at HSV's discretion and does not guarantee work.
4. Work, quality and pay
Work must be completed to the instructions and quality standard of each task. Pay is calculated per task or per unit as published on the platform, subject to quality review. Submissions that fail quality checks may be rejected or reduced, and repeated poor quality may lead to suspension of the account.
5. Data and confidentiality
Task data you encounter may be confidential client data. You agree to use it only to perform the assigned task, not to copy, retain, disclose or use it for any other purpose. This obligation survives termination of your account.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to violate any law, to submit fraudulent or automated work, to attempt to access other users' data or systems, or to interfere with the operation of the platform. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
7. Intellectual property
Work you submit is accepted as a work-made-for-hire: rights in completed tasks, annotations and outputs belong to HSV and its clients. The HSV name, logo and site content remain HSV's property.
8. Liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, HSV is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. You may close your account at any time; we may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms. Outstanding pay owed for completed, accepted work is settled on termination.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal.
